THE WORKSHOP BLACK NOVEL WILL FOLLOW EDGAR A. POE'S CANONS

The workshop Black Novel will be given at the University Venue in Alicante City from 10 March to 26 May. The workshop, included in the
offer of the Secretariat for Culture of the UA, will be run by journalist and writer Mariano Sánchez. The teacher remarks that 'we will follow the canons of the inventor of the detective stories, Edgar Allan Poe' .

With this workshop, which is celebrating its sixth edition, Sánchez expects the students to set the basis and to practise several aspects of narrative in order to write a black story. Soler explains that 'importance will be given to the canonical discipline and to the stories, and also to the reading to gain knowledge of the genre' .

Besides, the last day of the workshop will coincide with the start of the 5th edition of Black May, a festival about the black genre directed by Sánchez Soler and with speeches and meetings of prominent writers and experts, which will be carried out from 26 to 29 May at the University Venue in Alicante City.

The workshop will be on Tuesdays from 16:00 to 19:00 hours at the University Venue in Alicante City and registration can be made at the
