As it is already traditional, next 9th of March, at 20.30 horas, the series Música para la Semana Santa, Música para la Paz (Music for Easter, Music for Peace) will start in the Venue Ciudad de Alicante, organized by the Vicerectorate of Extracurricular Activities. The program will start with the concert of the Coral Voces Blancas from Jijona, directed by Vicente Pla Candela, which will offer songs and poems of the Passion. As the director of the choir explains: "As a sonorous contrast, music is treated in two aspects: the popular one, with songs taken out of the reviewed songbooks; and the singer-songwriter, which underlines and gives life, in women voices, to Christ's voice the majority of time, and sometimes to the citizens and other characters".

The Coral Voces Blancas was founded in 1984 by its current director. The choir has acted in many places of our province and in diverse Spanish cities. Likewise, it has obtained the following prizes: the First Prize Coros UNICEF national, first Prize Coros UNICEF international and first Prize Concurso Nacional Coros de Cámara in Vitoria. It has also been finalist in the Bienal Coros "Cola-Cao" Palau Música Catalana. Among the records it outstand: "Popular Songs of Alicante, Popular Spanish Carols, Live concert in the Main Theatre of Valencia, Viva la Navidad (Consejo Regulador del Turrón), Lorca, as women see him and Colección Música popular de la Diputación de Alicante."
