ONEIRIC POP WITH DEI SUONI, IN THE AUDITORIUM

"Pop with some lines of post rock and lyrics where what's oneiric and what's real are mixed, in the way David Lynch does". Thus the vocalist and guitarist of the band of Alicante Dei Suoni, José María López, describes their second record "Islands in the string", that will be opened next 24th of February, at 20.00, in the Auditorium (Paraninfo) of the University of Alicante.

As López explains, "when we did our first record, although we loved it, we had the feeling that it resulted a little bit slow and dark, so in this second record we intended to give another turn of the screw to make the songs more rhythmical". "Islands in the string" is a record written and thought of in English, where we speak about "extreme and daily situations, about dreams, about books or stories that we have acknowledged, and where it is intended to transmit some unreal thoughts, with an oneiric air".

The band, composed by Beatriz Rico (voice and guitars), José María López (voice and guitars), Javier Montiel (keyboards), Francisco Ripoll (bass), Raquel Violero (viola) and Marcos Hernández (drums), started to play in 2001. "We came from the scene of Alicante, from bands more or less known, and we rehearsed in the same place. So when our groups dissolved we came together and everything started to work". Since that moment, Dei Suoni has been making its own way in the local scene. In 2006, they were finalists in the competition Proyecto Demo de Benicàssim, and after that they made the soundtrack of the film by Adán Aliaga "La casa de mi abuela". Among their next concerts, we can stress their performances as support band of Annie B. Sweet and Piano Magic.
