VERSIONS OF HENRY JAMES ON THE BIG SCREEN

From Tuesday the 1st of March, at the University Venue in Alicante there will be a series of four lectures in which five James' narratives will be analyzed in relation to the film versions that have been realized through the twentieth century.

These narrations are the novels The Europeans (1878), Washington Square (1880), A Portrait of a Lady (1881) and The Bostonians (1884) and the short story The Turn of the Screw (1898).

In order to show the point of view of the different adaptations, the series will have the presence of some experts of national importance, such as the president of Asociación Española de Historiadores del Cine, Julio Pérez Perucha.

Besides going more deeply into the narrative knowledge of Henry James, this analysis is aimed to highlight the vitality of his work against some opinions that have even announced the end of his presence in the canon of the English novels.
