THE MUA BRINGS ART AND POPULAR SCIENCE CLOSER TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

This week, the activities included in the educational programmes of the Museum of the University of Alicante have started. Their main motivation "is to make learning, thinking and enjoyment easier from an artistic and scientific reality that is more multidisciplinary".

With regard to contemporary artistic creation, the offer includes guided visits dynamised with the exhibitions hosted by the MUA –the temporary expositions as well as the permanent collection– and also the didactic workshop entitled "Procesos artísticos. Colección MUA" (in English, "Artistic processes. MUA Collection"). The workshop is designed for people from all education levels, from preschool education to higher secondary-education, as well as for students with some kind of disability, who will be able to know the genesis of several creative processes and take a leading role, creating sculptural and collage exhibits. The didactic activities will go on until May 2012 and will finish with a selection and exposition of the best works participating in the XII Concurso de Talleres Didácticos (XII Didactic Workshops Context) of the MUA.

In tune with the dissemination of the university research, the MUA holds some Robotics Spreading Conferences that will take place on November 17. Experts from the Robotics and Three-dimensional Vision Group from the Computing Science and Artificial Intelligence Department of the University of Alicante will make an informative experience about robots and their use available to those present. Besides, from the beginning of December, the exhibition "Tiempo de Transición (1975-1982)", Transitional Time, will be formally open, organised in collaboration with the File of Democracy and Pablo Iglesias Foundation. The exposition, which will be open to the public owing to the celebration of the Constitution Day, will focus specially on making children and young people go deeply into the knowledge of a basic period in when building Spanish democracy.

All activities designed by the MUA are free. You can get further information on the website of the MUA, http://www.mua.ua. Enrolment can be made though the telephone, 965909517, or via e-mail didáctica.mua@ua.es.
