UA INSTAGRAM EXPO

The exhibition “First Participative Talks Instagram UA” can be currently seen at the Trànsit Room of Lecture Hall 2. The expo includes 16 pictures that students took and edited with their smartphones last September during Freshers’ Week, which was organised by the Office of the Vice-President for Culture, Sports & Language Policies.

The aim of the exhibition is to show the possibilities that an everyday device such as a smartphone can offer for artistic expression. Smartphones’ cameras, together with picture editing software, make it easier for lots of people to use photography as a means of expression and have made artistic creation bloom.

Last September, an course was held at the UA’s Museum (MUA) with the aim of teaching students about Instagram and giving them tricks and advice on how to make the most of their smartphones as a photography tool as well as maximise the potential of Instagram as a means for personal and professional growth. Some new apps for enhancing and sharing images were also shown and explained. There were theoretical and practical sessions with the participation of experts such as Gabriel Samper (@kainxs), Jaime Brotons (@jaimebrotons) and Andrés Orts (@andresorts).

Now, the pictures chosen by the course students will be shown in Trànsit 2 Room as a testimony to the creative results of the course.

You can share your UA pictures using the hashtag #UAinstagram on Twitter.
