The collaboration between UA’s Office of the Vice-President for Culture, Sports and Language Policies and FNAC is taken to the next level with the organisation of cinema cycle “Sucedió una noche”, showcasing films in the original version with Spanish subtitles one Wednesday a month in September, October, November and December.

September was the month of Night on Earth, and in October we enjoyed Before Sunrise, directed by Richard Linklater. Now it is the turn for November’s protagonist: 25th Hour, directed by Spike Lee in 2002 and starring Edward Norton and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Attendance is free and the film will be screened at 6:00 p.m.

An open discussion will be held after the film with the presence of the Film Club coordinators and Juan Francisco Aguirre, a film critic from Alicante.

25th Hour (Filmaffinity)

"After being sentenced to seven years in prison for drug trafficking, Monty Brogan only has 24 more hours of freedom left before he goes to jail. Former king of September 11-shaken Manhattan, Monty is about to kiss goodbye the flashing lights, his dreams of greatness and the crazy life that drove him away from those who really loved him. In his last hours as a free man, he tries to put back together the relationship with his dad (Brian Cox) and his two youth best friends: shy teacher Jacob (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Slaughtery (Barry Pepper), a brilliant Wall Street Broker. He also tries to make amends with his girlfriend Naturelle (Rosario Dawson), although he suspects she might have given him away to the police”.
