ATUPA'S HIP-HOP IN THE RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE

Hip-Hop is an unusual genre to be included in a culture programme, and even more so if it is genuinely Valencian. Such a unique proposal can be enjoyed in the performance by Valencian band Atupa, to be held next 4 December at 8.00 p.m. in the UA’s Residential college. This performance will be invitation only and tickets can be collected at MUA's cultural information point (MIC) and at Compás bookshop.

Atupa is a group of young rap singers born in the municipality of Moncada. At the performance in Alicante, they will present their first album, Quatribarap, but they will also play some songs of their next one, Expansion Pack. Their song ‘Poble’ is the album’s flagship, for which they have made an interesting music video.

This Valencian group was formed in 2012. In view of their youth and the short time they have been playing, their first album, Quatribarap, has been resoundingly successful. They have been playing for two years in some festivals all over the region, such as Feslloch, Festivern and Diània. They have also performed in the Fallas festivities concert, the 25th April concert or the Independence Day Festival.

Atupa’s new work, also produced by Ainz Adams, DJ Bokah and Mark Dasoussa, is based on the experience they have gained so far. Their new EP, Expansion Pack, intends to be just that, a pack full of songs to boost their career even more and take them higher in musical and quality terms.
