GASTRONOMY CONFERENCE 'INSECTS ON THE PLATE'

On 26 November, the first Insects Gastronomy Conference will take place as part of a set of cultural activities organised by the Faculty of Sciences on the occasion of St. Albertus Magnus feast day.

This conference, entitled ‘Insects on the plate: a healthy and sustainable diet’, will begin with the talk ‘Eating insects… Going back to the past leading to a great future’, presented by senior lecturer Estefanía Micó, from the Ibero-American Centre of Biodiversity (Cibio). This talk will be held at 11.30 a.m. at the Assembly Hall of Germán Bernácer Building.

After that, at 11.30 a.m., a tasting menu made up of insects as a food supplement will be offered at Terra i Mar restaurant, locatedin Social Club 2. This tasting is also organised by Eduardo Galante and Cinta Quirce, teachers at Cibio Research Institute.

The varied activities programme in honour of St. Albertus Magnus will include exhibitions, conferences and workshops, all of which will be held during the month of November.
