On 26 November, at 8.00 p.m., the play Espérame en el cielo… o mejor no will be staged by theatre company Espacio Imaginado. Invitations are freely available at the MIC (MUA’s cultural information point) and at Compás bookshop.

Through the story of four women, the play talks about the moment when love becomes something else, about how dangerous it is to believe in an only, absolute truth, and about how the truth can have two sides. In the words of the company members, this text is a reflection on the limits of honesty, on how much we need our partner, and on how fragile and strong we can be at the same time.

Espérame en el cielo...o mejor no tells the story of four women of different ages and origins with something in common: their rebellious and tenacious spirit and their amazing capacity for love. Each in their own way, these four women fight for their freedom against abuse and injustice.

With a good dose of humour (sometimes almost absurd) and irony, this play deals with current issues such as the consequences of the financial crisis, the hypocrisy of our ruling class, women’s right to education wherever they may be in the world, and different kinds of gender violence.

“These four women invite us to reflect on love, life and death with a smile on our faces. That smile may be bitter, sweet or innocent sometimes, but it always is liberating. Our ultimate aim is to spread hope, even beyond the end of our lives”, say the members of Espacio Imaginado.
