Music that rings a bell - 3rd Series of Chamber Music

Alicante, 5 December 2018
Patricia Orozco Gómez

Translated by Amie Jo Petherbridge

The series Music that rings a bell was created in January 2017 by two pianists from Alicante. The aim of this series is to bring classical music closer to the public, breaking away from traditional methods and surprising them with music we all know and love. At the same time the series helps promote very talented young musicians.

The series is directed and organised by founders of AMCA (Alicante Chamber Music Association) Victoria Marco, chamber music pianist that performs alongside international musicians, and Daniel Curichagua, pianist and composer awarded “Best Accompanist” in the Ruperto Chapí.competition. They are accompanied by María Marco Such, the series coordinator.

Throughout this third edition of the series, we will enjoy music from — on the one hand —musicians like Isabel Gualda (flute), Pedro Bonilla (cello), Jun Xie (violin), Raymond Arteaga (viola) and Joe Ott (guitar). On the other hand, we will also get the opportunity to listen to young Spanish talented performers such as Laura Ortega (clarinet), Miguel Ángel Ros (cello) and Alexis Gosálbez (clarinet). It is clear that the stage will be bursting with colour thanks to artists from Cuban, Chinese, North American and Spanish backgrounds. During this series, we will also be delighted by music of remarkable American pianist Suzanne Bradbury, a concert performer who is strongly connected to chamber music.

This edition of the series has been organised by the Alicante Chamber Music Association (AMCA) and the Alicante City University Venue (C/ Ramón y Cajal, 4), where the concerts will be held at 8 pm.
