Valencian music revival exhibition '#PrimaveraMusical' arrives to the UA Benissa Venue

Translated by Andrea Herrera Cózar

The University of Alicante exhibition, which has been on display for three months in the Aifos exhibition hall in the San Vicente del Raspeig campus is now travelling to the University Venue of La Marina, in Benissa, as its first stop, where it can be visited from 8 July to 28 October.

The exhibition reviews the last two decades of the Valencian music, where you can discover the music groups and artists from the end of the 90s to the present day. It gives a general overview of the musical revival movement that has taken place in the Land of Valencia.

In addition to the songs, the show also includes graphic art literature, festivals, family life, periodicals and their relationship with students.

The event consists of a series of thematic panels and a screen that plays video clips as well as television and internet programmes. The website also adds graphic and audiovisual information with YouTube playlists and information landmark on all the complementary activities that have taken place so far at the Campus and those that will take place on each travelling exhibition.

In Benissa, the first activity will be a colloquium with two protagonists of the #PrimaveraMusical, both from Benissa, who have experienced first hand what the exhibition tries to explain. On the one hand, Pascu Giner, that has toured hundreds of stages with Aspencat music group; on the other hand, Òscar Piera, who has been the organiser of one of the county’s festivals, Festaborígen, and who is part of the magazine Tresdeu, a medium that has witnessed and grown alongside the revival of the Valencian music.

The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 10am. to 1pm. and from 5pm. to 9pm. at the University Venue of La Marina exhibition hall (Calle Purísima, 57).

A second version in the form of fold-out panels has also begun to roll around the country this summer. It has already hosted by the Feslloc music festival in Benlloc (La Plana Alta) and from 23 to 25 July it will be in Forcall, at the Aplec dels Ports music festival.

The poster for #PrimaveraMusical was designed by Helga Ambak, from Muro (el Comtat), who has worked as a music designer and art director with groups such as Zoo, Smoking Souls and Inèrcia. She received the Ovidi award for Best Design in 2020 ( further information ) for the work she did with Traslúcido.
