Grecia Cáceres, directora del Departamento América Latina del IESA de París, ofrecerá en el CeMaB (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras) la conferencia titulada "En jerga de aguas negras: propuestas de escritoras peruanas de finales del siglo XX/antología personal" y presentará su poemario Adentro la batalla y ofrecerá un recital poético en la Sede Unversitaria de Torrevieja.
La Universitat d'Alacant, a través del Servicio de Lenguas hace una convocatoria pública para la concesión de apoyo lingüístico a la elaboración de tesis doctorales en valenciano y lenguas extranjeras dirigida al alumnado de doctorado de la Universitat d'Alacant.
UA off-campus culture hall in Ràfol d'Almúnia organises a film series, in collaboration with the Universidad de Alicante. It will be held from Tuesday 16 March to Friday 28 December. All the films will be screened at the town council auditorium and entry is free, limited to the auditorium capacity.

For another year in a row, the UA Philharmonic Orchestra (OFUA) starts its spring concert series under the baton of Tobias Gossmann. The series consists of three concerts, in Crevillente, in La Vila Joiosa and in Alicante.
The musical programme chosen for this year includes Symphony No 9 in C major, known as the Great, the last symphony written by Franz Schubert.
According to OFUA conductor, it has been a great challenge to study and present this symphony to the public due to its difficulty and wide range

The course will begin tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Paurides Foundation, with an inaugural session on the Civil War images of the Vinalopo county by José Ramón Valero. It will be run in five sessions until 28 March.
The Elda town council will present a documentary about Elda as a host town at the Castelar Theatre, today, at 8.30 p.m. Entry is free, limited to the theatre capacity.

The 12th exhibition Mulier, Mulieris on visual arts was inaugurated, with the collaboration of the UA Gender Equality Office. The official opening took place at the University of Alicante Museum (MUA) on 9 March at 7 p.m. It will be run until 15 July.

The MUA offers workshops, activities and guided tours for all family members.
The 2nd semester offers a wide range of possibilities: a staged visit and an origami workshop, a traditional Japanese engraving technique workshop, painting workshops, alternative gender imaginaries, a letter and image think tank, escape rooms for kids and much more.

The programme includes lectures and book presentations by Latin American and Spanish writers, such as Benjamín Prado and Pilar Blanco, and Peruvians Paolo de Lima and Grecia Cáceres; a meeting with Javier Olivares, creator of the "Ministry of Time" and "Isabel"; a musical show in homage to Mario Benedetti; the public reading of Don Quixote; as well as conferences by academics such as Saúl Sosnowski, Robin Lefere and Francisco Tovar.
CeMaB also collaborates in the 5th International Conference on the expression of rebellion in Spanish, orgamnised by ALEHP (Young Researchers of Spanish Literature Association).
The UA Film Club is back with its traditional original version film series at the UA San Fernando Venue (San Fernando 40). The series consists of 10 films, that will be screened from 6 February to 22 May, distributed in three theme blocks: Sofia Coppola, following her own path; Variations on classical music and A Remake?
First sessions will take place next Tuesday 6 February at 7 p.m., with the screening of Sofia Coppola’s Lost in translation (2003).
A film series in Catalan returns to the city of Elche in February. The series will take place at the Odeón cinema in Elche, located at Juan Ramón Jiménez street, 18. It will be on screen until May, with one film per month being displayed. There will be two sessions per film; the first one at 19:30 and the other one at 22:00. Free entry, limited to the room capacity.
Diario Información newspaper will hand out a free teaching unit for the preparation of the University of Alicante’s Catalan C1 level test. The course consists of 18 teaching units, each of them handed out every Wednesday from 31 January up to 23 May.
A film series in Catalan is back from Friday 2 March in and it will held non-stop up to 23 March every Friday at 6.30 pm. Films will be screened at the Alicante City University Venue, (San Fernando, 40). Entry is free.
2nd semester of academic year 2017/2018
The UA Culture Service has launch an extensive activity programme for the 2nd semester including theatre, dance and music. Indie group Maga, theatre performance of "Vives", and premieres by the UA theatre and dance clubs are part of the programme.

For the fifth year in a row, the successful course to obtain the Teaching Competence Certificate in Catalan, German, English and French is being held from 11 December.

Sambori Foundation announces its 15th short fiction university contest in Catalan, aimed at all students enrolled in Valencian public universities. The works must be original and unpublished, with an extension between 1 and 5 pages. Winners will receive between €500 to €1000.

The 3rd literary circle welcomes the participation to open dialogue of all lovers of reading and cinema through a number of proposed books. Application deadline: 9 January. This activity is recognised with 63 ESI hours. Free enrolment.

The exhibtion has been organised by Aramis López Juan and Juan A. Roche Cárcel. “Jano” is divided into several parts that coherently follow the ideology of the artist and create a storyline narrative: doors (beginnings), paths (emotional process), spaces (reflection), architecture (construction) and feelings (endings).
On 4 December, dancer and choreographer Sol Picó received the University of Alicante Golden Laurel, an award that acknowledges people and institutions of excellent national or international prestige in the field of sciences, arts, scientific research, teaching, artistic creation, sports and community services.
UA presents its most ambitious Volunteering Plan this year. "UA & YOU” has a total of 10 programmes that are made available to the university community with the aim of contributing to social transformation.
www.agendacultural.org is a joint cultural project of the Alicante city council, the Office of the UA Vice President for Culture, Sports and Languages, the UMH and the Alicante Provincial Council of Alicante. The project is intended to show their cultural programme where both private and public cultural agents are invited.
